Manchester United will look to carry the momentum from their 3-1 win over Swansea City when they face one of their favourite opponents in Arsenal. Jose Mourinho might have changed clubs but it is given that his animosity with Wenger will have been carried along with a change in the club. But things might be slightly different this time around with Wenger at the helm of a settled team who are unbeaten in 10 matches and are looking serious title contenders whereas Jose is yet to figure out his best eleven or gel properly with his players.
It will be interesting to see how the two approach this game with a popular belief being that Jose is going to set up his tea, defensively as he did against Liverpool and look to hit on the counter. The Gunners have been impressive this season and the Frenchman has looked flexible with his decision making and looks prepared to drop his stubborn attitude regarding archaic footballing issues.
With the match expected to be an entertaining one and the perfect way to kick-start an action packed weekend of Premier League, let us take a look at how the combined XI of this would probably look like.
T4O’S PREDICTED ARSENAL & MANCHESTER UNITED COMBINED LINE-UP (4-2-3-1)
DEFENCE
David De Gea gets the vote as he is the best goalkeeper in the league at this moment. Petr Cech narrowly misses out. The right-back is a problematic spot with both the first choices injured. We are going for Darmian because of his defensive qualities and his experience. Koscielny and Mustafi are the central defensive pair with their defensive displays this season warranting an obvious selection. Nacho Monreal has upended Gibbs from the starting eleven and he is our choice also.
MIDFIELD
Paul Pogba gets the nod as one of the two in the double pivot. He hasn’t been impressive in an obvious manner but his underlying stats are good and points towards a better season in the offing.
Granit Xhaka partners him in out XI. Mesut Ozil keeps his place in the No.10 role with no alternatives from United’s side.
ATTACK
Alexis Sanchez takes up the left-wing slot with Martial and Depay misfiring badly. Juan Mata has been impressive in the matches he has played till now and is our choice ahead of Walcott. Up front, it is United’s Golden Boy Marcus Rashford who might finally get a chance as the lone striker on Saturday.
