Premiership giants Rangers secured back-to-back victories in the league after a rather comfortable 3-0 win over St. Mirren earlier today. The Gers started the tie in the ascendancy, and at no point did it look like they were under any threat of dropping points. Although it took an own goal in the first half to break the deadlock, two quick-fire strikes from Alfredo Morelos in the second period ensured that Steven Gerrard’s men took home all three points.

Jon McLaughlin – 6.5
The summer acquisition wasn’t called into action on too many occasions today, but he did make the odd smart save to keep St. Mirren at arm’s length. Tried to release the ball quickly also.
James Tavernier – 7.5
The skipper was perhaps unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet tonight as he forced a couple of decent saves with shots from a distance. Got forward and helped out in the attack regularly.
Connor Goldson – 7
The defender was solid at the back for the Ibrox club as he made multiple important clearances and tackles. Made a nuisance of himself in opposition territory at times and forced an own goal as well.
Leon Balogun – 7.5
The Nigerian international centre-half put in yet another composed display at the heart of the defence. Seems to have settled into life in Scotland well and the initial signs have certainly been positive too.
Borna Barisic – 7
The speedster spent a majority of the game in the St. Mirren half, but he produced some good crosses into the box from wide. Passed the ball around well and tracked back when required.
Ryan Jack – 7
The Scot was very much the Gers’ midfield commander tonight as he controlled the tempo of the game with his passing and vision. Didn’t give the ball away on too many occasions either.
Glen Kamara – 7
The Finnish midfielder put in a much more confident display than the last couple of outings tonight as he passed the ball around in a composed manner. Tried to make attacking inroads as well.
Joe Aribo – 7.5
The Nigerian midfielder was at the top of his game yet again as he tried to create spaces in the St. Mirren defence line for the attackers to exploit. Picked up some good positions in the final third too.
Ianis Hagi – 6.5
The Romanian didn’t have the most effective of outings down the flank as he struggled to produce too much quality in the final third. Had a couple of poorly executed shots at goal as well.
Alfredo Morelos – 8
The Colombian did well on the lead up to the St.Mirren own goal as it was his cross that came off the opposition defender and found its way into the net. Scored two further goals on the day as well.
Ryan Kent – 7
The speedster tried to make some threatening runs into the St. Mirren area, and he had a couple of efforts go narrowly wide of the net as well. Worked hard out of possession as well.
