Jota To Start, Jonny And Podence To Miss Out | 3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup Vs Sevilla

Wolverhampton Wanderers will clash heads with Sevilla at the MSV-Arena on Tuesday night trying to secure a win so that they can seal a place in the UEFA Europa League semifinals. The West Midlands side managed to scrape past Olympiacos in the last round, but Sevilla could prove to be an even sterner test for them in midweek.

Nuno Espirito Santo will probably set his side up in a 3-4-3 formation and will be forced to make at least two changes to his starting XI for this upcoming clash versus the Andalusian outfit. Daniel Podence is suspended for this game after picking up a yellow card in his last outing. Jonny Otto will also be missing in action next week due to a knee injury.

Defence

Rui Patricio will play in goal after producing a match-saving performance for the Midlands giants earlier this week. Wolves are expected to opt for a back three of Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Romain Saïss as they try to stop the Spanish side from finding the back of the net on Tuesday. All three defenders will focus on maintaining a solid defensive shape so that they have a good platform for claiming a win at Duisburg.

Midfield

Joao Moutinho will operate along with Ruben Neves at the centre of the park as they look to dictate the tempo of the game and orchestrate some promising opportunities to score in the opposition half. The Portuguese duo has been in a good run of form of late, so Nuno Espirito Santo could demand another commanding performance from them in midfield.

Jonny Otto is unavailable which could give Ruben Vinagre a start as the left wing-back. Matt Doherty will be asked to put in another tireless shift down the right flank. Leander Dendoncker might have to be content with a spot on the bench as he awaits his opportunity to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

In the absence of Podence (suspension), Diogo Jota and Adama Traore will have to step up and provide some natural width out on the flanks. Raul Jimenez will once again spearhead the Wolves attack upfront. All three forwards will be keen to get their names on the scoresheet, but it won’t be an easy game for them as the side from Seville has not conceded a single goal in their past four matches across all competitions.

Pedro Neto should make up the numbers on the bench but could influence the game as a second-half substitute if Nuno Espirito Santo decides to call upon his services.
