Liverpool will entertain Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday evening hoping to pick up a win on their way to lifting the Premier League trophy after the match. The Reds suffered an unexpected 2-1 loss versus Arsenal last week, so they would be desperate to come up with a positive response versus the Blues in midweek.
Jurgen Klopp will stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation and might bring Naby Keita back for this match against Frank Lampard’s men.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in between the sticks for the Merseyside giants after shipping in two goals versus the Gunners in his last outing. Joe Gomez will continue to play alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence as they try to neutralise the threat of Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud in midweek.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has experienced a drop in form in recent weeks, so he will be eager to put on a much-improved showing on the day he will be crowned as a Premier League champion. Andrew Robertson will be hungry to produce a tireless display on the other side as the left-back. Klopp would want both his full-backs to press high up the pitch so that they can create some decent goal-scoring opportunities in the final third.
Midfield
Fabinho will once again anchor the midfield alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. Fabinho has arguably been Liverpool’s best player since the Premier League’s restart, so the Brazilian midfielder will be in high spirits heading into this midweek showdown versus the Blues.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be available for selection on the bench, but James Milner will have to pass a late fitness test if he wants to get involved on Wednesday.
Attack
The Reds will once again operate with a front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. All three players have struggled to finish off chances over the past couple of matches. Hence, we can expect them to make amends and cause a lot of trouble for the Chelsea defenders in midweek.
Both Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi will make up the numbers on the bench as they await their chance to come on as the impact substitutes in the second half if required.
