Manchester United will face off against Chelsea on Sunday evening hoping to progress into the FA Cup final with a win at Wembley Stadium. The Red Devils are expected to make a few changes to their first-team for this weekend’s highly-anticipated showdown versus the Blues as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has preferred to play certain players like Sergio Romero, Fred and Odion Ighalo in the cup competitions this season.
The Norwegian head coach is expected to stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and will instruct his players to soak in the pressure and expose the opposition’s defensive weaknesses on the counter.

Defence
Sergio Romero should get the nod to start in between the sticks as Solskjaer has often used him in the cup games. David De Gea will provide cover for the Argentine on the bench. Harry Maguire should continue to partner Victor Lindelof at the centre of the Man United defence as they try to keep Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud quiet throughout the 90 minutes.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could retain his spot at right-back while Brandon Williams might get the nod to operate as the left-back if he can be fit in time for this clash. However, both Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will be unavailable for selection due to unspecified injuries.
Midfield
Fred and McTominay produced an impressive display when Man United beat Norwich City in the last round of the FA Cup, so they should come back and anchor the midfield against Chelsea this weekend. The talented trio of Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes and Juan Mata could play just ahead of them as part of the Red Devils attack. All three playmakers will focus on orchestrating some clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities for Odion Ighalo in the final third.
Both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba could be named on the bench as they await their chance to come on and make an impact if required.
Attack
Odion Ighalo had managed to find the back of the net in the last round of the FA Cup, so the Nigerian striker will fancy his chances of doing the same when he laces up to face the Chelsea defenders on Sunday. Anthony Martial will have to be content with a place on the bench but could be utilised as an impact substitute if Solskjaer decides to call upon his services.
