Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side bounced back from their embarrassing defeat to Sheffield United last week with a largely comfortable 1-0 victory against an already relegated Norwich City. The Canaries didn’t register a single shot on target over the course of the fixture, as Kepa had what was arguably his most comfortable outing in a Chelsea shirt yet. Despite complete dominance of possession, the London club were only able to produce the one goal just before half-time, scored by French striker Olivier Giroud.
Here Are The Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Norwich City:
Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Norwich City
Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6
The Spanish international had what was arguably his most relaxed fixture since joining the Blues tonight, as the Norwich attackers struggled to put together anything of quality in the final third.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 6.5
The Spaniard spent a majority of the fixture in the Norwich final third, but got back and took care of his defensive duties when required. Played some decent crosses into the box all through the night.
Antonio Rudiger – 6.5
The German played the odd loose ball over the course of the fixture, but was largely untroubled by the Norwich City front-line. Released Alonso effectively on multiple occasions as well.
Kurt Zouma – 7
The Frenchman was dominant at the back for the Blues as he kept Drmic extremely quiet all through the ninety. Moved the ball around quickly and played some excellent cross-field passes as well.
Marcos Alonso – 7.5
The Spaniard was the Blues’ most advanced player at certain points in the fixture as he gave Cantwell a torrid time down that flank. Played some excellent crosses into the Norwich box too.
Jorginho – 6.5
The Italian was composed in his role in the Chelsea engine room tonight as he ensured to keep the ball ticking from side to side. Played some good passes, but not enough attacking penetration.
Mateo Kovacic – 7
The Croatian international didn’t have his most influential outing tonight, but he ensured to keep the ball moving. Played some good passes out and linked up well with the likes of Alonso and Pulisic.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6.5
The midfielder tried to impact the tie with his movement and attacking intensity. Picked up some good positions in the Norwich box, but needs to be more precise with his passing in the final third.
Willian – 6.5
The Brazilian speedster put in a good shift down the right flank tonight, but he wasn’t able to produce too much quality in the final third of the pitch. Linked up well with Azpilicueta down that end though.
Olivier Giroud – 7
The Frenchman held the ball up well and tried to bring the Chelsea wingers into the game with his touches. Fluffed his lines in front of goal on a couple of occasions, but scored just before half-time.
Christian Pulisic – 7
The American was far from his best again tonight, but he produced various glimpses of brilliance all through the fixture. Made some good attacking runs and found a peach of a cross for Giroud’s goal.
