Real Madrid will play hosts to Villarreal at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday evening hoping to clinch the La Liga title with a win at home. Los Blancos are just one win away from being crowned as the new champions of Spain. At the moment, they are enjoying an excellent run of form as they have won all of their past nine league matches.
Zinedine Zidane will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his first-team for this clash versus the Yellow Submarine.
4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Villarreal
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will continue to feature in goal for the home team despite failing to keep a clean sheet versus Granada last night. Sergio Ramos will once again take his place alongside Raphael Varane at the heart of the Real Madrid backline as they look to keep things tidy at the back in midweek.
Dani Carvajal will try to produce another solid performance at right-back while Ferland Mendy fills in on the other side as the left-back. Mendy has managed to find the back of the net in his last outing, which will give him a lot of confidence ahead of this game.
Marcelo has been ruled out for the remainder of this La Liga season because of an adductor injury while Nacho is a slight doubt for this clash due to a thigh problem.
Midfield
Zidane might be inclined to shuffle up his midfield options by naming Federico Valverde, Casemiro and Toni Kroos at the centre of the park. The talented trio will hope to dominate possession in midfield so that they can cook up some decent goal-scoring chances in the opposition half.
Luka Modric might be rested on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the second half if Zidane decides to call upon his services.
Attack
Isco could make way for the return of Eden Hazard, who will be desperate to put on a good showing down the left flank. Marco Asensio might get the nod to play as a winger on the right side of the Madrid frontline after being dropped versus Granada. Karim Benzema will lead the charge for the Madrid giants down the middle. The Frenchman is expected to carry most of the goal-scoring workload by himself up top.
Gareth Bale, Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
