Everton will lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Toffees only managed to grind out a 1-1 draw versus Southampton yesterday and are currently floating in mid-table with nothing meaningful to play for heading into the final few matches of this campaign.
Carlo Ancelotti will stick with his favoured 4-4-2 formation and might make a couple of changes to his first-team for this upcoming clash at the West Midlands.
4-4-2 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Jordan Pickford should retain his place in goal for the Merseyside outfit despite failing to earn a clean sheet in each of his past three appearances in the league. Mason Holgate is a significant concern for this game after he has picked up a knock versus Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week. Hence, Yerry Mina should continue to partner alongside Michael Keane at the heart of the Everton backline as they try to keep things tidy at the back this weekend.
Seamus Coleman will get another chance to impress at right-back while Lucas Digne keeps his place on the other side as the left-back. The French defender picked up an assist for setting up Richarlison’s goal yesterday which should give him a lot of confidence going into this encounter versus Wolves on Sunday.
Midfield
Andre Gomes picked up a knock against the Saints which makes him a significant doubt for this upcoming contest. Gylfi Sigurdsson might return to feature alongside Tom Davies at the centre of the park. Anthony Gordon will look to produce another industrious performance down the left flank. Djibril Sidibé could get the nod to operate as a makeshift right-winger as he focusses on getting to the byline so that he can deliver some decent service to the front players.
Both Bernard and Alex Iwobi will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Richarlison will once again share the goal-scoring burden with Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top. The Brazilian got his name on the scoresheet in midweek which will keep him in good spirits ahead of this Premier League showdown at the Molineux.
Moise Kean will be available for selection on the Everton bench but could get a chance to impress if Ancelotti decides to call upon his services.
