Club football will once again return this weekend after the international break and we have a titillating fixture on our hands on Saturday. Tottenham will lock horns with their London rivals West Ham United at White Hart Lane in a London Derby. Both teams will be desperate for wins following the poor run of form they are in. Spurs still are the only unbeaten club in the Premier League but are six points behind leaders Liverpool and three points behind the final Champions League spot holders Arsenal.
For many, Spurs were one of the frontrunners for the title following their amazing run last season. They have the best defence in the League who have performed so well so far but their attack has let them down.
Spurs have also not won a single game since their 2-0 win over Manchester City on 2nd October. After a seven-game winless run in all competitions, Pochettino will be looking to take advantage of the Hammers’ poor run of form this campaign.
Spurs and West Ham share a long-standing rivalry with each other and both being desperate to win this game will make this fixture even more interesting. Here is the predicted Spurs lineup against West Ham.
Defence
Hugo Lloris, one of the best in his position in the Premier League and probably in the world, will start between the sticks as the last man in defence. Toby Alderweireld could make his comeback from injury in time for the game but I don’t think Pochettino will take any risk with the Belgian.
Kevin Wimmer and Jan Vertonghen should keep their respective place at the heart of Spurs defence. Kyle Walker and Danny Rose will start in the two full-back positions. The two full-backs play a key role in the way Spurs play and will be all pumped up after their brilliant showing in national jersey.
Midfield
Eric Dier will start in the middle of the park alongside Victor Wanyama. Both Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele are out with injuries while Moussa Sissoko has not been able to live up to expectations since his big-money switch from Newcastle United to Spurs this summer.
Christian Eriksen is doubtful for the game while Erik Lamela is definitely out with an injury. So, Pochettino has a serious crisis to deal with. Young Harry Winks could get his chance in the number ten role.
Attack
We expect Moussa Sissoko to get a start on the right flank. Son-Heung Min will start on the left. Harry Kane made his comeback from injury just before the international break and it was evident that he was not fully fit for the North London Derby but still played more than 70 minutes. Kane will be fitter now though and will start up front for the North London giants.
