According to various reports, West Bromwich Albion are plotting a move for PSV Eindhoven attacker Luciano Narsingh. With the 26-year-old nearing the end of his contract with the Eredivisie club, Tony Pulis intends to take this chance and land the highly rated forward for a cut-price deal in January.
Another concern is Albion striker Berahino’s possible departure in the winter. Saido Berahino’s current deal with the Hawthorns expires at the end of the season and boss Tony Pulis may have to let the wantaway striker go in January or risk losing him on a free transfer. He is currently in France at a fitness camp as Pulis tries to get him fit ahead of the transfer window opening.
Any move for Narsingh only implies Berahino’s imminent departure. In the last two seasons, Albion have successfully fend off offers for their star striker which include Crystal Palace and Stoke’s offers in July and Tottenham’s multiple offers the year before.
But it seems Pulis cannot resist the striker from leaving anymore. Narsingh, however, would be a better replacement for Berahino and he even surpasses Berahino in certain aspects. The winger has made 110 Eredivisie appearances for his club scoring 21 times and is one of the key players in the squad. Narsingh has the versatility to play on either wing and has the ability to thread in the killer passes as well when the opportunity arises. Liverpool under Klopp have really regained their attacking aura with the forward players doing exceptionally well in front of the goal thanks to their versatility and the model works efficiently when you have the players.
With the versatility to play on either flank, Narsingh can produce some of the exquisites of passes, which blended with his pace could rip apart opponent’s defence at times. Liverpool’s are also currently eyeing the wonder kid and is likely to put a bid in January.
One major weakness that Narsingh could face is his lack of defensive contribution which is essential in the Premier League. The winger is not someone one can expect to cover his fullback or drop deep without the ball covering the space which leads to the defensive problems of his team.
But that is a playing style and it could always be improved. West Bromwich are currently 11th in the league with 13 points from the opening 11 games. With some heavy defeats in the recent games, Pulis will try to get back into the groove post the international break.
