Holgate And Keane With 7.5, Digne Picks Up 7 | Everton Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Norwich City

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side got back to winning ways in the Premier League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against bottom-dwellers Norwich City. The first-half was rather evenly contested with either team controlling the possession in stages. In the second period though, the Toffees began to dominate the ball, and soon enough they broke the deadlock. A Michael Keane header from a Lucas Digne corner ended up being the difference between the two sides.

Everton Player Ratings Vs Norwich City

Jordan Pickford – 6.5

The Englishman wasn’t really called into action on too many instances tonight, as the Canaries’ attack seemed to be lacking a cutting edge in front of goal. Only had one shot on target to deal with.

Seamus Coleman – 6.5

The full-back maintained his position well for most of the night but was given a torrid time by the sheer pace and directness of Hernandez down that flank. Tracked back and defended well.

Michael Keane – 7.5

The defender had a solid game at the back for the Toffees as he won most of the balls that Norwich tried to play into the Everton box. Popped up when it mattered and scored the winner too.

Mason Holgate – 7.5

The Englishman, like his partner at the back, was remarkably composed at the heart of the defence. Calm and collected with the ball at his feet and found some good long balls out as well.

Lucas Digne – 7

The little Frenchman worked extremely hard tracking back whenever the men in yellow posed a threat. Bombarded forward on every opportunity and picked up the assist for the only goal of the night.

Alex Iwobi – 7

The former Arsenal man picked up some good positions in attack during the second half and even delivered a couple of delicious crosses into the Norwich box. Put in the effort and worked tirelessly.

Andre Gomes – 6.5

The former Barcelona man was far from his penetrative best tonight, as most of his passes in midfield were either sideways or backwards. Lacked the sharpness required to impact the fixture.

Tom Davies – 6

The midfielder played some good passes in the middle of the park but didn’t have the influence he might’ve been hoping for. Made some rash tackles and was substituted at half-time by Ancelotti.

Bernard – 7

The diminutive speedster made some good advances towards the Norwich City box but just seemed to be lacking the final ball. Worked hard tracking back and put in quite the shift down the flank.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6

The young centre-forward found himself in a couple of right positions tonight, but in the end, displayed some poor decision making. Had an excellent heading opportunity which he wasted in the late stages.

Richarlison – 6

The Brazilian was just as bad as his strike partner tonight, as nothing he tried in the final third seemed to be coming off. Tried to carve out avenues in the Canaries defence-line, but quite simply failed.

Substitutes

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 6

The Iceland international was brought on at half-time as Ancelotti tried to change the course of the game. Although he did begin to control the ball in midfield, didn’t offer anything different going forward

Moise Kean – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.

Leighton Baines – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.

Anthony Gordon – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.
