Club football will once again resume next weekend following the international break and Liverpool will be looking to keep up their stunning form. Most of their key players are all involved in the international games and will come back to reunite under Jurgen Klopp to take on Southampton next Saturday.
International breaks often turn out to be costly for the teams as it disrupts the team’s form. Liverpool were in the stunning run before the break and we have t wait and see if they can keep it up after the break.
However, most of Liverpool’s key players are having an impressive international duty. Let us take a look at the three of the best performers from Liverpool on international duty.
Daniel Sturridge
The 27-year-old gifted forward is struggling for playing time at Anfield this season but had nothing but joy in an England shirt in the midweek. England thrashed their neighbours Scotland 3-0 in the World Cup qualifiers and Daniel Sturridge made the scoresheet.
The Englishman is not known as one of the best headers of the ball but did really well to connect to Spurs’ right-back Kyle Walker’s cross from the right-hand side and score past Celtic keeper Craig Gordon.
His goal for England in the midweek will give more confidence to the Liverpool fans that they have a natural goalscorer like Sturridge on the bench who can change games on his own.
