Chelsea are reportedly planning to make an offer of £43million plus Cesc Fabregas for Paris Saint Germain’s Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.
Antonio Conte is very adamant in bringing the defender to Stamford Bridge. Verratti is a familiar face to Antonio Conte, who had the experience of working with him when he was at the helm of the Italian national team. Fabregas has been linked with a number of clubs the latest being with West Ham United.
The midfielder is currently enduring a difficult season having spent the most of the time on the bench. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to splurge on and would bring out his cheque book to sign the Italian play maker.
Also, Verrati’s recent spat with PSG coach Unai Emery could be a big boon for The Blues.
Fabregas is not the type of midfielder Conte would have wanted ideally. Conte would rather like someone who has sheer pace alongside continuous running ability. Verratti has both the quality which makes him even more valuable.
