According to Fussball Transfers, Bayern Munich have permitted Corentin Tolisso to leave the club in the summer. The Frenchman has struggled with form and injuries throughout his career in the Bundesliga and is tipped to take the next step in his career. Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the services of Tolisso, who prefers a move to Premier League as his next destination.
It is fair to assume that Tolisso will be considered as a replacement for Dani Ceballos if the Bayern Munich star does move to Emirates in the summer, but is he really a viable replacement for the Spanish ace?
Style of play
Tolisso and Ceballos share a similar style of play, especially when it comes to attacking the opposition. Both the players are capable of carrying the ball across the middle third of the pitch and ease the transition play. They can use their silky footwork to nestle through tight spaces, thus evading the second line of press from the opposition.
Even when it comes to creating chances in the final third, their primary objective is often to find teammates with space in an open area. They are gifted with an excellent passing awareness, though Tolisso is much more used to the possession-based game due to his time at Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyon.
Defensively, Tolisso is definitely the more reliable option. The Frenchman is physically more adept than Ceballos, which allows him to make tackles as well as indulge in one-on-one duels. Moreover, the Bayern Munich star is also better at threading long diagonal balls, making him a much more accomplished passer.
Tactical compatibility

One thing Arsenal must be careful of is the player’s injury-prone nature. He has, however, improved a lot in recent years. Besides, Tolisso could be available for a cut-price this summer due to his struggles at Bayern Munich, which is combined with the financial impact of the Coronavirus. The north London giants, therefore, should not waste this opportunity to sign the midfielder.
