Celtic will be at the comfort of their home when they welcome Copenhagen in the second leg of the round of 32 fixtures. The Hoops were expected to see off their Danish opponents, but they were held to a 1-1 draw. Nevertheless, Lennon’s men will be favourites to go through at Parkhead.
Fraser Forster saved a crucial penalty to keep the tie in the balance. Lennon will hope that his side can repeat the performance of the first half where they thoroughly outplayed their opponents.
Team News: Ryan Christie is suspended for this encounter after he picked up a yellow card in the last game. Scott Brown is also a doubt because of his injury which saw him miss the league tie against Kilmarnock at the weekend. Hatem Abd Elhamed and Michael Johnston are the other two significant absentees for the manager.
4-2-3-1 Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Copenhagen
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Fraser Forster is a no brainer to start in goal. He stood up tall when Celtic needed him, and once again, he would have a big role to play in between the sticks. Jonny Hayes could return at left-back. Christopher Jullien is expected to start in the centre back role.
He should be partnered by Kristoffer Ajer who has scored crucial goals off late. Jeremie Frimpong struggled to keep up against Copenhagen’s attack from the right, and he will have to show vast improvements from the first leg. With Elhamed still out, the youngster is likely to start at right-back.
Midfield
Nir Bitton will be expected to play in Scott Brown’s role in midfield if the captain fails to recover in time. He impressed as a centre back in the first half of the season, and now he will have to do a job in midfield. Callum McGregor is likely to keep his place alongside him in midfield.
Summer arrival Mohamed Elyounoussi could get the chance to feature on the left-wing. Olivier Ntcham will be competing for a place with Tom Rogic, but Lennon could go in with the former for the attacking midfielder’s role. James Forrest might have to help Jeremie Frimpong by tracking back from time to time. But he will have a crucial role to play in attack on the right-wing.
Attack
Leigh Griffiths has done well alongside Edouard in the 3-5-2 system, but he is unlikely to start as the lone striker. Hence, Odsonne Edouard will lead the line for the Bhoys. The Frenchman will hope to be more clinical after he missed some good chances in the first leg.
