In a recent interview with Spanish news outlet La Vanguardia (translated by The Daily Mail), Wolverhampton Wanderers speedster Adama Traore shared his thoughts on a future move to Real Madrid when he said, ‘It wouldn’t be a problem for me.
‘I don’t close the door to anything. Right now I am very happy here, the operation of the team is fantastic.
‘But both Madrid and Barca will arrive when they have to arrive.’
The Spanish winger goes on to add (via La Vanguardia), ‘I have no resentment for what happened.
‘It would not make sense. Certain decisions of certain people do not mean that I have a problem with the club.
‘But when deciding my future, I have no problem going to Madrid. It will be based on the decisions I make with my family.’
The Telegraph (subscription required) had reported earlier this month that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in acquiring the services of Traore this summer. The 24-year-old has enjoyed the most productive season of his playing career after putting in several match-winning performances for the West Midlands outfit so far.
Traore’s Superb Season At The Molineux
Traore has netted five goals and provided ten assists in 37 matches for Wolves this term across all competitions. Because he only had one goal and three assists to his name last season, his numbers under Nuno Espirito Santo’s tutelage in this campaign show just how much he has matured as a footballer over the past six months.
The Spaniard has averaged 1.2 tackles, 1.2 shots, 1.4 key passes and 5.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season (stats via whoscored). His stats prove that he is willing to put in a tireless shift defensively and hit the opponent using his pace and power on the counter. Traore has the potential to improve his game even more in the coming years so he will be a massive coup for the Galacticos if they end up getting him at the end of this campaign.
What Will The Wolves Winger Bring To The Spanish Capital?
The 24-year-old is one of the fastest and most powerful players in European football. He is averaging over five dribbles per game which is nothing short of sensational considering how competitive the teams are in the English top-flight. Traore excels at making penetrative runs with the ball down the right flank and has managed to create plenty of goal-scoring chances for his teammates this season.
Should The Galacticos Move In For Traore Next Summer?
The Spanish dribbler tends to float in and out of matches and can be a frustrating figure when his teammates are not playing up to their full potential. Traore’s game is still rough around the edges, but his ceiling is sky-high. Hence, it makes a lot of sense for Zinedine Zidane to splash the cash on landing the talented winger this summer.
With Gareth Bale’s long-term future uncertain and Eden Hazard’s recent injury woes, the Galacticos would be wise to prepare for the future by recruiting someone who Zidane can mould into a top talent. Traore’s incredible turn of speed makes him a potent goal-threat on the break, which means that Zidane could use him to be more flexible with his strategies and set-ups next season.
The ex-Barcelona talent might struggle to meet the growing expectations of playing for a prestigious club like Madrid. However, Zidane, at the very least, would be getting a player who can make an immediate impact off the bench.
