Barcelona will entertain Eibar at the Nou Camp on Saturday hoping to pick up a win and leapfrog Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table. The Catalans will come into this game on the back of two consecutive victories over Real Betis and Getafe respectively.
Quique Setien will set up his team in a 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his first-team for this clash versus José Luis Mendilibar’s men this weekend.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Eibar
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will retain his place in goal for the Catalans despite failing to keep a clean sheet in each of his past four matches across all competitions. Clement Lenglet has served out his one-game suspension against Getafe so he will line up alongside Gerard Pique at the heart of the Barca backline. Samuel Umtiti might get some rest on the bench after being heavily involved in recent weeks.
Nelson Semedo will operate in the right-back position while Junior Firpo gets a start on the other side as the left-back. Jordi Alba will miss out on this clash due to a groin injury. Both Barcelona full-backs will look to push high up the pitch so that they can provide enough support to the front players.
Setien will demand a clean sheet on Saturday after his side conceded five goals in their past four matches on all fronts.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong is a nailed-on starter alongside Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal as they try to retain possession at the centre of the park and create some decent goal-scoring opportunities for the frontline. De Jang is expected to be a constant menace for the Eibar defenders this weekend and will come into this match in good form following his goal-scoring display versus Real Betis earlier this month.
Sergi Roberto and Arthur will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might get a chance to feature in this game if required.
Attack
Ansu Fati could get another start down the left flank while Lionel Messi focusses on making a difference from the right. Antoine Griezmann will get the responsibility of leading the charge down the middle. The French forward scored the opener versus Getafe last weekend so he will be in high spirits heading into this showdown at the Nou Camp.
Both Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele remain sidelined due to injury, so we can expect Rey Manaj to make up the numbers on the bench.
