Arsenal finally returned to winning ways after securing a much-needed 4-0 victory over Newcastle United earlier this evening.
However, it was a slow start to the game for the Gunners, with the game turning into a cat and mouse chase. But, an improved second-half display saw the north London side emerge as the better side. And they deservedly took the lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 54th minute. Minutes later, they doubled that lead thanks to Nicolas Pepe.
Later in the game, Arsenal added more gloss to the scoreline through goals from Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette. And here are Mikel Arteta’s men rated in their win over Newcastle United.

Bernd Leno 7
A relatively easy outing for Leno, who made a few good saves in the first half to deny Newcastle United from getting in front. He was barely tested after the restart, though.
Hector Bellerin 7.5
A much better display from Bellerin, who did well to contain Allan Saint-Maximin. He remained firm and did his duty, especially when Arsenal were dominating the proceedings in the second half.
Shkodran Mustafi 8
Mustafi produced yet another solid performance this evening. Indeed, the German international offered a lot of protection to Leno and managed to impose his authority during the defensive phases.
David Luiz 7.5
Luiz wasn’t as clinical as Mustafi today, but he still managed to provide ample solidity at the back, helping Arsenal preserve a clean sheet.
Bukayo Saka 8.5
A fantastic performance from the youngster, whose ability to nestle through tight spaces makes him a priceless asset to the Arsenal side. Indeed, Saka had a key role to play in the second goal, and his overall service from the left flank was impeccable. Although the 18-year-old struggled during defensive phases, he has undoubtedly become a vital member of this first-team this season.
Dani Ceballos 9
After failing to muster a single minute under Arteta, this was an incredible comeback performance from Dani Ceballos, who did get the nod ahead of Lucas Torreira in the starting lineup.
The Spaniard anchored the midfield and operated as an auxiliary centre-back during the build-up phases, thus boosting Arsenal’s overall game. He also combined well with Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka and had a role to play in the opener. A masterful display from the midfielder.
Granit Xhaka 7.5
While Ceballos stole the show with his flawless passing and movements, it was Xhaka who offered the physical presence in midfield and helped Arsenal deal with the likes of Sean Longstaff and Nabil Bentaleb. Did make one or two silly tackles, however.
Nicolas Pepe 9
Finally scored a goal from open play when he netted Arsenal’s second goal in the 57th minute. Overall, the Ivorian was very lively throughout the game. His pace and tenacity made it difficult for the Newcastle defence to remain organised. Pepe also caused trouble with his ability to whip in dangerous crosses into the box.
Mesut Ozil 9
Ozil had an excellent second-half, where he was in the middle of things. His combination with Ceballos in the build-up helped Arsenal during the transition. Moreover, the German offered creativity in the final third that led to Arsenal creating so many chances after the restart. He was, however, lucky to get away with a poor finish late in the game.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 8
Aubameyang once again showed why he is the most important player in this Arsenal team with yet another excellent performance. His ability to score makes him a priceless asset to any club in the world.
Indeed, the Gabonese international was smart in his offensive movements and did well to influence the game despite starting at left-wing, even with the absence of Lacazette in the starting lineup.
Eddie Nketiah 6
While almost the entirety of offensive unit enjoyed an excellent second half, Nketiah was perhaps overwhelmed and therefore, failed to make his presence felt. The youngster appeared a little sloppy in front of goal.

Lucas Torreira N/A
A late replacement for the tiring Ceballos. But, with the Spaniard performing well, Torreira certainly needs to put in improved performances from now on.
Alexandre Lacazette N/A
Replaced Nketiah in the 85th minute and made an immediate impact, netting Arsenal’s fourth goal late in the game.
