Leeds United are once again struggling to get going during the crunch phase of the season, and they have squandered their massive advantage on the second spot. They only lead third-placed Fulham on goal difference, and the Whites will play a tricky encounter against fellow promotion rivals Brentford tomorrow. A win for the Bees at Griffin Park against Leeds will see them overtake their Yorkshire rivals on the table.
The Whites have lost four of their last five games, and Bielsa will hope to turn the tide against Brentford. It will be no mean feat for the Whites who have struggled to score goals of late. Meanwhile, Brentford have the best defence in the league so far.
Team News: Kalvin Phillips will finally be available for selection after he missed the last few games due to suspension. Barry Douglas is doubtful for this clash again. Adam Forshaw is still unavailable.
4-1-4-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Brentford
Formation (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Kiko Casilla has been well below par for quite some time now. We believe Illan Meslier should be given a go in the first team. The youngster impressed in the tie against Arsenal in the FA Cup and he can surely do no worse than Casilla at the moment in goal.
Stuart Dallas should feature at left-back with Ezgjan Alioski struggling in that role. Liam Cooper will play in his usual central defensive role. Ben White is expected to partner him in defence. Luke Ayling will be back in his more usual right-back role after he played as a centre-back in the last game.
Midfield
Ben White didn’t look natural in the defensive midfield role and Leeds will be glad to have Kalvin Phillips back in midfield. Jack Harrison is expected to keep his place on the left-wing. Mateusz Klich is likely to continue in midfield for the Whites. We would like to see Tyler Roberts starting as the attacking midfielder in this tie. Helder Costa has been struggling to get going, and he should be on the chopping block on the back of some of his performances. Pablo Hernandez should start in the right flank instead. To be fair, even Hernandez needs to pick his game up as he too has been found wanting.
Attack
Jean-Kevin Augustin is unlikely to get a start yet. However, he should be on the bench atleast. Patrick Bamford will be expected to lead the line once again for Bielsa.
