Everton are eyeing Poland international Lukasz Teodorczyk, who is currently playing at Belgian side Anderlecht. The striker is said to be as good as Lewandowski and has already scored 14 goals this season for the club.
However, the English club will face competition from Stoke City, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and even Championship side Aston Villa to land the highly rated striker. He is at the moment rated at 12 million pounds.
Everton will be more than happy to pay the sum to get a striker like him although Brussels-based Anderlecht do have the option to make the loan move permanent from Kyiv. It won’t be easy to bring him in as European giants like Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are all on heavy alert for the striker.
The 25-year-old is a frequent scorer in the UEFA Europa League and doesn’t shy away in showing his quality at big matches. Teodorczyk played against Manchester City in the round of 16 of the Champions League game earlier this year and also scored a brace in their 6-1 Europa League win against Mainz on Thursday night last midweek.
At 185cm, Teodorczyk could be a towering presence in the Everton front line. With players like Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas, and Yannick Bolasie around him, he could really be a force to reckon in the Premier League.
Another reason the Polish should opt to Everton over other clubs is because of his chances of landing a first team place. Although Teodorczyk has to compete with a host of players to play that centre forward position like Arouna Kone, Rodriguez, Conor McAleny and Enner Valencia along with Lukaku, he possesses the quality to trump most of them except maybe Lukaku.
Considering the Polish striker’s superb sense of positioning and lethal form, he could turn out to be Everton’s instinctive forward. That would give him a chance over the other strikers at Everton.
The Toffees have had a mixed start to the current season but with ambitious ownership, they are aiming for dizzier heights than the last couple of seasons where they finished in the bottom half of the table. With Lukaku’s future still not sorted, Teodorczyk could well be the next striker to take the club forward and the sooner they sign him, the better.
The money he is going to cost is nothing really in the Premier League. The only potential problem that could arise is the competition Koeman’s side are going to face trying to sign him. If they fail to say qualify for the Europa League, it’ll be harder getting the Pole.
