In a recent interview with BBC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe revealed his admiration for Liverpool when he said, “What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing.
“They’re like a machine, they’ve found a rhythm and are like ‘we play again, we play again’.
“They’ve lost zero games. When you watch you think everything’s easy but that’s not easy. The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.
“Now the problem is that everybody watches Liverpool, and everybody watches what we can do against them, so now they have to show they are strong again but it’s a very good team with a very good manager.”
However, the French striker was reluctant to talk about his future beyond this season and went on to add (via BBC Sport), “Now I’m with PSG and I’m 100% with the club. I want to help the club grow this season, to win a lot of titles, so for me it’s not good to talk about [my future].
“I think about the club because the club helped me. I came here at 18. I was a talent but I was not a superstar. Now I’m a superstar, thanks to PSG and the French national team.
“I have to stay calm and stay focused on PSG. After that, at the end of the season, we will see. But now I’m focused on my game.”
Mbappe has enjoyed another productive season at the French capital after he put in a string of eye-catching performances for PSG so far. He has scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in 22 matches for the Ligue 1 giants this term across all competitions. The French hotshot has averaged 4.0 shots, 1.7 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per game for Thomas Tuchel’s side in the French first division (stats via whoscored).
What Makes Mbappe Such An Exceptional Striker?
Mbappe is one of quickest players in Europe and can make some driving runs with the ball out on the wide areas. He has exceptional dribbling skills and is a lethal presence in the final third. The 21-year-old has already transformed himself into a consistent goal-getter at the highest level, which is a remarkable feat for a player of his age.
Should The European Champions Move In For The French Marksman Next Summer?
The France international is a generational talent so Liverpool will be fortunate to have a player of his calibre on board next summer. However, Mbappe won’t come cheap, so Jurgen Klopp will likely have to splash a lot of money to bring him to Anfield.
The possibility of a front three of Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah with Roberto Firmino playing in the number ten position next season, will be a mouth-watering prospect for any Liverpool fan. Mbappe is in line to become one of the greatest players of his generation if he can continue making progress in improving himself with each season. Therefore, if the Reds have the funds to pull off such a mammoth transfer, then they should at least explore the idea of doing so.
