Ranieri keeping his faith in the veteran centre-back pairing of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan has hurt the Premier League holders and Leicester City must sign a capable defender in January to bail them out of their defensive crisis.
Leicester City might not need to search hard for the player who solves their defensive muddles. There is an able and capable defender who is not getting any kind of game time an Anfield following his dispute with the manager Jurgen Klopp and Leicester City should use this situation to their advantage. Yes, we are talking about Mamadou Sakho. Struggling Premier League duo West Ham United and Leicester City are ready to make approaches for the out-of-favour Liverpool defender, according to The Mirror.
Sakho might not be getting any playing time at Anfield this season but that is not due to footballing reasons. It is his attitude that has taken him down in the pecking order at Liverpool and it seems that he is all but done in a Liverpool shirt. However, Sakho still remains a highly talented defender and Leicester City won’t get a better opportunity than this to tie down such a big player.
Sakho is a proven defender in both international football and in club football. The Frenchman used to an integral member of both France and Liverpool before he was suspended by UEFA last season for an alleged failed drug test that made him miss Europa League final for Liverpool and the whole European Cup for France. The charges were later cleared by UEFA but it was too late.
Sakho has whole his reputation to recover and that will only benefit Leicester City. A natural leader of men, tactically and technically sound defender, Sakho has everything to become a world class defender. He is the perfect successor to Wes Morgan with his leadership skills. Leicester City might need to spend a fortune to get the signature of the French superstar but it will be one hell of a signing from them.
