Each and every Celtic fan will be on cloud nine with the kind of form Celtic are in the current season. They are looking like a completely changed side under Rodgers. Yet to be beaten in any domestic game this season, Rodgers has lifted the Hoops to a whole new level after taking over from his predecessor Ronny Deila.
The Hoops had their struggles in the Champions League and there is very little chance for them to qualify for the round of 16 but the fans should not be too disappointed with that. They were ousted from the playoffs of the Champions League in the last two seasons and Rodgers managed to get them to the group stage of the Premier club competition in Europe for which he needs to be credited.
Rodgers arriving at the helm has gone very well for the club without any doubt but there are some players who have been largely benefited with the Northern Irishman’s arrival.
Here are three players who are doing exceptionally well after the arrival of Brendan Rodgers.
Jozo Simunovic
The young Croatian defender moved to Celtic last summer and just when he started to make an impact at Parkhead, a season-ending injury came his way. The Croat made his comeback from such a lengthy injury earlier this season and Rodgers slowly introduced him to the first-team. Right now, Simunovic is the first-choice partner to Erik Sviatchenko at the heart of the defence, ahead of experienced Kolo Toure. Celtic have a serious talent on their hands in the 22-year-old Croat.
Liam Henderson
The 20-year-old is a brilliant talent who was knocking at the door of his first-team breakthrough for quite a long time. He got his chance to impress with Rodgers arriving at the helm. There are players like Scott Brown, Nir Bitton, Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor ahead of the youngster in the pecking order at Celtic right now but the 20-year-old still had 205 minutes on the pitch this season which speaks highly about his potential.
James Forrest
Forrest’s position at Celtic was at jeopardy for quite a long time. The Scottish winger could never really impress under former manager Deila and looked certain to leave this summer. However, Rodgers kept the fleet-footed winger at the club this summer and the Scot has revived his career in some fashion.
Once a very highly winger, Forrest is finally doing justice to his talent at the age of 25 and the credit goes to Rodgers.
