Hector Bellerin could be available for the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur but Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal are doubtful, Arsene Wenger hinted. Carl Jenkinson played in place for Hector Bellerin as the gaffer didn’t want to take the risk. Cazorla is nursing an Achilles injury while Theo Walcott is on the verge of return.
Wenger revealed in the press conference, “Bellerin has a test. I left him behind in midweek because I was cautious with him. I think he should be alright.”
Arsenal are right now three points adrift of Spurs who haven’t lost a match in the Premier League this season. The Gunners have a chance to top of the table if they get the better of Spurs and other results go their way.
Arsenal have won 14 matches on the go and Wenger admitted that they have a very good chance this season, “It’s a very important game. We’re in a strong position in the league and we want to strengthen.”
When asked about Granit Xhaka who has a knack of giving unnecessary fouls, Wenger answered, “I’ve no specific idea what I’ll do (with the starting XI) but I am concerned (with his discipline) yes.
“Discipline is important and we want to be effective in the situations we face in a derby. I think he’s quite a composed and calm guy, sometimes on the field the reaction is a bit impulsive.
“He needs to work on that and his control in the game,” he added.
