According to a recent report by The Daily Mirror, Liverpool have joined the race to acquire the services of RB Salzburg starlet Karim Adeyemi, who is currently playing on loan at Liefering. The same source has also claimed that the Reds will face fierce competition from Arsenal, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund in pursuit of the young German forward.
Adeyemi’s Recent Emergence In Austrian Football
Adeyemi signed for Bayern Munich at an early age before making a switch to play for the youth teams of SpVgg Unterhaching. Salzburg opted to recruit him before the start of the last season, but the Munich-born prospect is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Austrian champions.
The teenage sensation has been in sparkling form since joining FC Leifering on a two-year loan deal last summer. The 17-year-old has featured in 33 matches for Bo Svensson’s side, scoring 14 goals while providing 11 assists across all competitions. Adeyemi has played for Germany at various youth levels and is very highly-rated back in his homeland.
What Are The European Striker’s Best Attributes?
Adeyemi can complete some penetrative dribbles with the ball without turning over possession. He has also transformed himself into a composed finisher in the attacking third of the pitch. The German whizkid is a confident striker who has a terrific turn of pace and can leave his marker to bite the dust using his speed and guile up top.
However, the 17-year-old is still inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to adapt himself to English football if he chooses to seal a move away from Salzburg in the coming years. For now, the talented youngster is better off concentrating on improving his skills at Liefering as he has been earning regular first-team chances in the Austrian second division this term.
Is Adeyemi A Gem In The Making?
Adeyemi looks like a star in the making as he possesses all the attributes to become a world-class marksman someday. He is still quite raw but will undeniably be a prospect to look out for in the future. Acquiring a forward of Adeyemi’s potential will improve the quality of the Liverpool Academy.
Jurgen Klopp is yet to replace Bobby Duncan, who abruptly left the Merseyside club last summer. So the Reds boss should consider recruiting Adeyemi as he will be an ideal replacement for the Fiorentina striker.
