Bob Bradley will be facing a huge challenge in the form of Manchester United as he looks to notch up his first 3 points as the Swansea City manager. The Swans have had a torrid start to the season and find themselves in the 19th spot with only Sunderland worse off than them. Swansea have just 5 points in their kitty and haven’t won a match since their opening day win against Burnley.
Things are looking bleak and the appointment of Bob Bradley after Francesco Guidolin was sacked hasn’t gone down particularly well with the fans. The lack of experience and the lack of self-belief in the camp coupled with difficult fixtures makes it a trying time to be associated with Swansea.
But they need to rally and give it their best shot in order to cause an upset in the next couple of matches. Winnable fixtures are far and few between but even then Swansea need to get their act together to gather as many points as they can.
Next up are Manchester United at home and with their backs against the wall, there is only one direction they can move in. United themselves have been inconsistent this season and Swansea should look to express themselves instead of curbing all their instincts and looking to defend for 90 minutes.
DEFENCE
Fabianski will be dreaming of keeping only his 3rd clean sheet of the season and while that may remain a dream he can contribute to a positive result by being on top of his game. Angel Rangel is likely to come in at right-back with doubts over Naughton.
After conceding 3 goals against the Potters, Bradley might draft in Jordi Amat at the expense of Mawson. Van Der Hoorn is likely to be partnered with Kingsley at left-back. Neil Taylor provides a viable alternative.
MIDFIELD
Leroy Fer is almost a certainty in the double pivot but there might be a change with Jack Cork a possible replacement for Ki.
Sigurdsson might continue in his No.10 role. His penchant for long-range strikes and his threat from free-kicks has to be utilised if the opportunity arises in the game.
ATTACK
Wayne Routledge scored the only goal in the disappointing 1-3 defeat and will most likely line-up on the left-flank while Barrow is a good bet for the right-wing role.
Fernando Llorente started up front in the last match but might be replaced by Borja Baston against United.
