Liverpool will host Walter Mazzarri’s Watford at Anfield on Sunday in the 11th game week of the Premier League. The Reds are in sublime form this season having lost just once till date that was a shock 2-0 defeat to Burnley earlier this season.
Klopp’s side have been scoring for fun this season and find themselves third on the table after 10 games. They are level on points with first and second places teams Manchester City and Arsenal but have a lesser goal difference.
Liverpool are on the back of a 4-2 win against Crystal Palace away at Selhurst Park from last week. The Reds found it hard to overcome the Eagles in recent years but with their scintillating form in front of the goal, they managed to win the game last week despite Crystal Palace equalising twice.
Watford are doing pretty well this season and are placed 7th right now, one place above mighty Manchester United. Liverpool cannot afford to take the Hornets lightly at all.
Liverpool won their last game against Watford 2-0 but lost 3-0 in the previous one. Klopp needs to ensure that his side can maintain their form in order to remain in the title race. Here is the predicted Liverpool lineup against Watford.
Defence
Loris Karius is the first-choice at Anfield ahead of Simon Mignolet and should keep his place under the bar. Nathaniel Clyne will start at right back. The centre-back pairing will remain Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren. Both got themselves on the scoresheet last week against Crystal Palace but Lovren made a high-profile error that led to a goal for Palace.
Experienced and versatile James Milner is likely to return at left-back after missing the last game with an illness. Liverpool have conceded the most number of goals among the top eight and must stop letting in sloppy goals if they hope to challenge for the title.
Midfield
Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has been excellent this season at the base of the three-man midfield setting up the foundation for the side. He will keep his place in midfield.
Adam Lallana is now a quintessential player at Anfield thanks to his excellent sync of energy and creativity as well as a jaw-dropping flamboyance. Lallana will keep his place in midfield. We expect Emre Can to start, keeping Georginio Wijnaldum out of the side.
Attack
The in-form attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Philippe Coutinho are likely to start up front for the Reds once again. Liverpool have scored the joint-most number of goals this season despite playing without a natural number nine. That speaks volumes about the scintillating form the front three of Liverpool are in right now.
