In a recent interview with the Bournemouth Echo, Bournemouth wide player Ryan Fraser expressed his frustrations after his best friend Marc Pugh moved to Queens Park Rangers last summer. Fraser was honest about his feelings and told the Bournemouth Echo, “He’s my best mate off the pitch so to see him go on loan (to Hull last season) was hard.
“I was obviously back to being a loner again! Pughie is Pughie. You can’t say a bad word about Pughie. He’s probably one of the nicest guys. Nath (Ake) is up there as well, and then I’d say myself maybe third!
“There’s no bad word to say about Pughie. His professionalism, on the pitch he’ll give everything but off the pitch he’s the best family man I’ve seen.
“He’ll look out for you. Like last year he just invited me round for Christmas.
“My family weren’t down, I hadn’t seen them in maybe a year and then Pughie just asked me to go for Christmas with him.
“He didn’t have to do it but that’s just the type of guy he is.
“Me, Shaun MacDonald and Wes Fogden always used to do stuff together.
“So obviously losing one and then we keep losing them and then last season was hard – I used to go and have a coffee with Pughie, but it wasn’t like that. So you end up just going home and doing nothing.
“It’s hard to take.”
The Cherries attacker has been recently linked with a move to Liverpool. TalkSport reported earlier this month that the Reds were in advanced talks with Eddie Howe’s side over a possible January move for Fraser. With the Scotland international expressing his unhappiness over life at the Vitality Stadium, Jurgen Klopp could now have the ideal opportunity to orchestrate a move for him when the transfer window reopens this winter.
Fraser’s Remarkable Rise Under Eddie Howe’s Tutelage
The 25-year-old’s current deal at Bournemouth runs out at the end of this campaign, so it is only logical for the club to cash in on him in January or else get nothing for their prized asset next summer. The Aberdeen-born talent enjoyed a glorious season in the last term when he put in numerous match-winning displays as part of Howe’s first-team. He has struggled to hit the same heights in this campaign but has still managed to score one goal and provide two assists in 11 appearances for the Cherries in the Premier League.

Fraser is a talented winger who tends to come alive when his team is transitioning from defence to attack. Therefore, he will be an excellent fit for Klopp’s style of play at Anfield. The Scottish playmaker works his socks off for his side whenever he steps on to the pitch. Fraser is decent at pressing the opposition and can also pick out a killer pass in the final third. The Cherries speedster has the ability to score goals regularly from midfield when he is playing with confidence on the field.
Should Klopp Make A Move For Fraser In January?
Recruiting a creative wide player like Fraser could add something different to the Liverpool squad. The Reds have sometimes lacked invention when Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are either unavailable or not having a good game. Hence, a player like Fraser could be a shrewd addition to Klopp’s team as he will add some much-needed creativity to their midfield.
