Arsenal came back from two goals down to win their Champions League tie against Ludogorets to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition at the Vasil Levski national Stadium in Bulgaria. It was an entertaining game which yielded 5 goals and the visitors showed great character to fight until the end and grab the vital three points from the tie. Let’s take a look at how the Arsenal players fared in the tie on a scale of 10
David Ospina (6/10)
Ospina did make two good saves in the second half but looked shaky and uncomfortable during the set pieces and was unable to command his area or organise his defence.
Carl Jenkinson (6/10)
Jenkinson has really not been able to take his opportunities at Arsenal. He was really poor in possession and was caught out of his position a number of times on the night. He is frankly not fit to be an Arsenal player at the moment despite being a big fan of the club.
Shkodran Mustafi (6.5/10)
Was not at his best and was given a hard time by the Brazilian trio of Ludogorets.
Laurent Koscielny (6.5/10)
One of the rare poor performances by the defender as he struggled and was unable to stamp his authority on the game. Could have done a bit better during the second goal Arsenal conceded.
Kieran Gibbs (6.5/10)
Gibbs also struggled in the game defensively unable to contain the crosses delivered from his flank, worked hard but looked vulnerable defensively and Cafu got the better of him to create the chance for the home side’s second goal
Francis Coquelin (7/10)
Hard working display in the midfield, was able to break things up and provided the defensive cover in the deep midfield region.
Granit Xhaka (7/10)
Good performance from the Swiss international. Scored an important goal and passed the ball well while supporting Coquelin in his defensive duties in the middle.
