Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Goodison Park to clash heads with Everton this Sunday hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 loss at the hands of Liverpool last month. Spurs are in dire need to improve their results away from home as their performances have been poor on the road in this calendar year.
Mauricio Pochettino will likely opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and will be forced to bring in Ben Davies in place of the suspended Danny Rose for this weekend clash at Merseyside.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Paulo Gazzaniga will lineup in between the sticks for Spurs in the absence of the injured Hugo Lloris. The Argentine goalie has to find a way to secure a few clean sheets at the back if Spurs are to turn things around for the better this season. The defensive duo of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld will operate together at the heart of the Tottenham backline. Both defenders will be responsible for keeping the Everton attackers at bay on Sunday afternoon. They would have to neutralise the threat of Richarlison who has been Marco Silva’s main man up top.
Serge Aurier will retain his spot at right-back despite putting in a poor display versus Liverpool last weekend. Danny Rose is suspended for this clash so Ben Davies should return and slot in at the left-back position. The Tottenham defence has looked shaky in recent matches, so they need to put in a much-improved performance if they are to come away with maximum points from Goodison Park.
Midfield
Both Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks will play together as the holding midfielders. The dynamic duo will be expected to work hard and stop the home team from getting a foothold at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen will operate just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. Both Alli and Eriksen has not managed to be amongst the goals for Spurs in recent weeks. It’s high time that one of them stepped up and put in a match-winning display on Sunday.
Attack
Harry Kane will look to build on his goal-scoring performance versus Liverpool by putting in another productive display in the Premier League this weekend. The English striker will lead the charge for Spurs and will be expected to do most of the damage up top.
