Rangers just about managed to get the job done against Motherwell to stay on Celtic’s heel in the Premiership standings. Both the Glaswegian giants are level on points, and Celtic only lead the table on goal difference. Rangers will now head to Dingwall to take on Ross County in the next round of fixtures in the Premiership.
Ross County currently occupies the sixth spot on the table and are winless in their last four games. However, they managed a well-earned draw against the Hibs at the weekend as Joe Chalmers scored a 90th-minute equaliser. The Gers will go in as the favourites, but Gerrard needs to make sure that his players don’t get complacent as they recently laboured across to a win against Motherwell.
Team News: Gerrard almost has everyone fit and available apart from Jordan Jones, who suffered an injury in the Old Firm derby last month.
Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Ross County
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor conceded a goal against Motherwell which he could have done better with in all honesty. He will look to be at his best and will start in between the sticks once again. Nikola Katic could come in this game for Rangers in defence. We would like to see Filip Helander continue at the back after his recent performances. Connor Goldson will have to miss out.
James Tavernier has played relentlessly at right-back, and we feel that he needs a bit of breather. His performances have also dipped in the last few games, and maybe a game off could do him a world of good. Jon Flanagan should get a chance to start at right-back. Borna Barisic’s attacking outlet from the left has been impressive, and he should continue at left-back.
Midfield
Steven Davis is expected to start in the deepest role in midfield. His movement and confidence to get on the ball are impressive, and that always keeps Rangers moving. Ryan Jack should return to the lineup after sitting out the Motherwell game. Scott Arfield could continue as the other midfielder.
Attack
Gerrard has clearly looked to protect Ryan Kent after his comeback from injury. Given the opponent, maybe Kent might be kept on the bench again, and he can be used as an impact substitute. Sheyi Ojo could get a chance to start on the left flank. Brandon Barker has done alright in the last few games, and he will probably occupy the right-wing spot. Alfredo Morelos could lead the line for Rangers after Defoe played the weekend’s fixture.
