Real Madrid will host Leganes in a midweek clash in the La Liga. The travellers are currently rooted at the bottom of the table, but they recently had some positives going their way as they managed to win their first game of the season against Mallorca last weekend. Real Madrid incidentally had lost their last league game to Mallorca which saw them slip to the sixth spot on the table after the latest round of fixtures.
However, the table is still tight, and there is just a three-point gap between the top team and the seventh. Madrid have blown hot and cold so far this season, but they should have enough firepower to see off Leganes. The home team has also had a whole week to prepare for this tie as Real Madrid’s clash against Barcelona had to be postponed. Therefore Zidane’s men should be fresh and raring to go.
Team News: Marco Asensio is out for the season. Álvaro Odriozola is suspended for this tie after he received his marching orders against Mallorca. Defender Nacho is also expected to miss out. Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Lucas Vasquez are all doubtful, but they could be available once they are assessed closer to the matchday.
Real Madrid Predicted Lineup Vs Leganes
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Thibaut Courtois is expected to keep his place in goal. Sergio Ramos will captain the side and will start in his usual centre back role. Raphael Varane should partner him at the back. Dani Carvajal is expected to occupy the right-back spot for the Los Blancos. Summer arrival Ferland Mendy is likely to start at left-back.
Midfield
Brazilian international Casemiro will be expected to start in the deepest role in midfield. We are expecting Luka Modric to be available for this tie so he should slot in at midfield. He will be looking to get back to his best after a slow start to the campaign. Toni Kroos should complete the midfield three for Real Madrid.
Attack
Eden Hazard missed the first few games of the season due to a hamstring injury. He is yet to set the Santiago Bernabeu ablaze with his performances as he has had a slow start after arriving from Chelsea.
He is likely to start from the left flank. 18-year-old Rodrygo could get the nod to start as the right-winger. Karim Benzema will undoubtedly lead the line for Zidane in this tie.
