Rangers dropped points last weekend against Hearts, but they went on to earn a commendable draw away from home against Porto in the Europa League. The Gers will be back in the comfort of their homes as they take on Motherwell this weekend.
Rangers are currently trailing Celtic on goal difference, and even there the margin is of just one goal. Therefore we are in for one of the tightest title races the Premiership has seen in recent memory. Motherwell meanwhile have done well so far as they are currently third on the table over the usual suspects like Aberdeen, Hibernian, Kilmarnock and Hearts.
The Well boss Stephen Robinson has marshalled his troops well, and he will like to make it tough for the Gers to get through them. However, the way Rangers have played so far and especially in the midweek tie against Porto, they will definitely go in as favourites for this encounter.
Team News: Gerrard is close to getting everyone fit and available. Only Jordan Jones seems to be a doubt at the moment. Apart from that, Rangers should be at their full strength.
Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Motherwell
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor might not have to do a lot in most of the games, but he always seems to be ready when he is called upon. He should start in goal. Gerrard could go in with Nikola Katic in this home game even though Filip Helander produced an excellent performance against Porto. The other centre back spot will likely go to Connor Goldson.
James Tavernier will be expected to start at right-back once again. He will be keen to get back his confidence after some poor outings. Borna Barisic has really come of age at Ibrox, and his recent performances mean that he is almost undroppable at the moment at left-back.
Midfield
Steven Davis could feature once again in a deep role in midfield. He should be partnered by Joe Aribo who played only as a substitute in the midweek clash. The other midfield spot could go to Scott Arfield as he should also be fresh for this tie after sitting out the Europa League game. Jack has just recovered from an injury and Rangers could look to rest him.
Attack
Ryan Kent showed impressive signs against Porto, and he should feature from the left. Sheyi Ojo could get the nod to start on the right flank in this game. Alfredo Morelos should lead the line for the Bears.
