According to a recent report by the Daily Express, Manchester United are ready to step up their pursuit of Red Bull Leipzig centre-forward Timo Werner. However, the same source has also revealed that the Bundesliga side are not willing to let go of their prized asset in January so the Red Devils will have to wait until the end of this campaign if they intend to sign the German striker.

The 23-year-old has gradually transformed himself into a prolific goal-scorer in the German top-flight since his career-defining move from Stuttgart in the summer of 2016. Werner has also made a marvellous start to this campaign after putting in a few match-winning displays for Julian Nagelsmann’s team thus far. The Stuttgart-born talent has scored eight goals and grabbed one assist in 11 matches for the Bundesliga outfit across all competitions.
