After a few bad games, Eden Hazard has started to thrive under new manager Antonio Conte and the Belgian believes they are on a right track.
The Belgian international scored the opener and set up Diego Costa’s goal as Chelsea rallied to defeat Southampton 2-0 in their last match and moved to the fourth position with 22 points. There has been much speculation regarding the player as he has been linked to a number of clubs.
It is very hard to believe a player of his calibre who was adjudged the PFA player of the year in the 2014/15 season had failed to recreate the same performance and only managed six goals last season.
The Belgian international claimed, “It’s where we belong, it’s where we want to be,”
“At the end of the season we want to be in the top four to qualify for the Champions League next season. We played well, and I hope it’ll continue for the rest of the season.”
Since Chelsea switched to 3-4-3 system the 25-year-old has been playing a key role in Chelsea’s rejuvenation as he has been assigned to a more central and attacking role. “Since we switched to 3-4-3 we’re winning games and we’re not conceding, so it must have some role to play.
“Everyone knows what they have to do. For me, it doesn’t change a lot as when I played out wide, I came inside a lot.
“We’re in good shape, and things are in place to do some good things. I’m happy with what I’m doing right now, and I’m helping the team win.”
