Manchester United young midfielder Angel Gomes has been attracting a lot of interest from Barcelona. The teenager has been in sensational form and made his under 18 debut at the age of just 14. The 16-year old came through the ranks of United and also featured for England U-16s.
Gomes’ father played for Portugal alongside Luis Figo and Rui Costa. He also happens to be the cousin of ex-Manchester United player, Nani.
Barcelona are allowed to sign underage players from outside of Spain and are willing to take a punt on him.
Gomes scored a hat-trick for United U18s against Everton. He is one of the brightest talents to have emerged from United’s academy in recent times. Given the ongoing awful form of The Red Devils Jose Mourinho might give him a chance but it might be too early for the teenager.
Man United youth team boss Nicky Butt also praised him, “Angel Gomes is a young talented player that we have massive hopes for.”
