Newcastle United will travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City in the next round of fixtures in the Premier League. The Magpies have had a full week to prepare for this tie whereas Leicester City were busy with their Carabao Cup tie against Luton Town in midweek. However, they made light work of Luton as they won the match with a 4-0 scoreline.
The Foxes are currently sitting third on the table after they put in an impressive display against Tottenham Hotspur not too long ago. On the other hand, the Magpies are just one point off the relegation zone and will have a battle on their hands to save themselves from being demoted this season. Leicester have lost their last two home league games against the Toon. However, ever since Brendan Rodgers has taken over, the Foxes have looked imposing, and they will go in as the clear favourite for this tie.
Team News: Florian Lejeune and Dwight Gayle won’t be involved this weekend. Steve Bruce is facing a bit of a dilemma as the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, DeAndre Yedlin, Matt Ritchie and Sean Longstaff are doubtful for the clash against the Foxes. However, some of them could be involved if they manage to pass a late fitness test.
Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Leicester City
Formation (5-4-1)
Defence
Martin Dubravka is an obvious choice to start in goal for the Tyneside club. He is expected to be shielded by a prominent back three of Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Paul Dummett. Lascelles is likely to start at the heart of Leicester defence whereas Dummet will be on the left of him and Schar on the right.
Jetro Willems has impressed in the left-back position in recent weeks. The talented fullback will look to get forward whenever an opportunity presents itself. Javier Manquillo will hope to do the same down the right side.
Midfield
Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden will be the engine room of this side, and they will probably have to do a lot of defensive work throughout the game. Christian Atsu will have to play a prominent role down the left flank as he can help his side to break on the counter. Miguel Almiron’s form has been inconsistent so far, but it could have to do with the fact that he is not getting to play in a more central role. The Paraguayan is likely to start on the right-wing again.
Attack
Newcastle’s big summer signing, Joelinton is expected to lead the line for the Magpies up top.
