According to a recent report by the Sun, Manchester United are facing stiff competition from Arsenal in pursuit of Sunderland teen sensation Logan Pye. The same source has also claimed that the Red Devils are currently losing the race to secure the services of the English whizkid with the Gunners in pole position to land him.

The Black Cats rising star will be eligible to sign a professional contract when he turns 16 next month. It is believed that both English clubs have sent scouts to catch the youngster in action for the Sunderland Under-18 team (via the Metro). Pye has impressed a lot of people with his performances in the U-18 Premier League, having made four appearances in the youth competition while scoring one goal in the process.
The talented defender has also represented England at the U-16 level and is destined to feature for the Three Lions’ senior team in the future if he can continue developing his game with each year. Pye is highly versatile as he primarily operates as a left-back but can also fill in as a centre-half if required.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to build for the future so that his team can compete for major trophies in the coming years. Pye would be a significant coup for the Man United academy if Solskjaer can find a way to lure him to Old Trafford.
