Real Madrid head coach, Zinedine Zidane has spoken over Eden Hazard’s return to the squad following the injury the Belgian attacker sustained just before the start of the 2019/20 La Liga season.
Hazard picked up a hamstring injury midway through August which has delayed his competitive debut for Los Blancos following his €100 million summer move from Chelsea. Hazard is amongst the ten players who have suffered an injury at Real Madrid since the start of the present season.
The likes of James and Rodrygo have also made their return from injury and could play some role in the Whites’ fixture against Levante. Meanwhile, Asensio, Isco, Diaz, and Modric are still receiving treatment at Ciudad Real Madrid.
Zidane spoke to the press ahead of Real Madrid’s home fixture against Levante and stated that Hazard would have to be slowly integrated into the squad post his return from injury.
Zidane was quick to mention the fact that Los Blancos play extremely tricky fixtures in September and it would be best if Hazard were slowly allowed to make his return from injury to extract the most out of him. The Real Madrid boss has been quoted saying by ESPN –
“Regarding Hazard, we have to go little by little. He has been injured for three weeks. He was back training this week.
We have to go carefully with him. We know what the situation is, he is ready and that’s the most important thing. I will give him minutes here and there, not trying to push him too much to get the best out of him.
We have seven games in 21 days and we need to use our heads with Hazard.”
The 4th Official lists out a few things Real Madrid should keep in mind as they prepare to integrate Eden Hazard into the squad following his injury.
Slow & Steady Wins the Race
It’s still very early days into the season, and Real Madrid have enough matches to cover up on the points they have dropped in the Primera Division. The UEFA Champions League campaign has not even started, and Hazard can undoubtedly come off the bench against PSG to get the hang of things following a month away from the pitch.
Los Blancos play PSG, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid in the space of the next 15 days or so and all of them are tricky and away fixtures. Expecting Hazard to deliver from the word ‘go’ would be absolutely criminal.
Team Morale and Dressing Room Atmosphere
Los Blancos need to continue and build on the positive start they have had to the season. If things fall hay-wire once Hazard makes his return, the Spanish press will not shy away from labelling Hazard as the ‘Worst Signing of the season”, just as they did to Luka Modric a few years ago.
Hazard would need to a peaceful set-up to get into this Real Madrid squad following the hamstring troubles, or the surroundings would just make things from bad to worse for the Belgian.
