Manchester City will travel to Carrow Road to face off against Norwich City on Saturday evening hoping to keep up with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. The Citizens will come into this clash on the back of a dominant 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break.
Pep Guardiola is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation but will be forced to play John Stones in place of Aymeric Laporte, who suffered a long-term injury recently.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Norwich City
Defence
Ederson will play in between the sticks for Man City after securing a clean sheet against the Seagulls before the international break. The Brazilian shot-stopper will need help from Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones as the centre-back pair look to keep the Canaries at bay on Saturday evening.
Kyle Walker will try to link up play with others in the opposition half while operating as the right-back. Oleksandr Zinchenko should get the nod to start on the other side as he assumes his role in the left-back position. Joao Cancelo will be eased into Guardiola’s first-team so we can expect him to start on the Man City bench.
Guardiola’s defenders will need to cope with Aymeric Laporte’s long-term absence so it would be interesting to see how Stones can perform alongside Otamendi at the heart of the Man City backline this weekend.
Midfield
The Citizens midfield might be comprised of David Silva, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne as the talented trio looks to dominate possession and create some decent opportunities for the front players going forward. Both Fernandinho and Phil Foden will be available on Guardiola’s bench and might come on to influence the game if required.
Attack
Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva will look to provide some width down the flanks while Sergio Aguero leads the line for the Citizens up top. Aguero has got his name on the scoresheet in each of his past four matches for Man City in the English top-flight. Therefore, the Argentine striker will fancy his chances of keeping his goal-scoring run going against the Norfolk outfit this weekend.
Riyad Mahrez will have to settle for a spot on Guardiola’s bench and might come on to make an impact during the contest if needed.
