Chelsea wide player Callum Hudson-Odoi recently posted a video displaying his skills on Twitter to which Trevoh Chalobah responded by saying “sign it” referring to a new contract (via the Liverpool Echo). However, Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster left a reply to Chalobah’s comment by urging Hudson-Odoi to sign it “at Liverpool” (via the Liverpool Echo).
It seems like the young English players are enjoying a banter among themselves using social media. Even then, one cannot help but think whether the Reds should make an offer for Hudson-Odoi as he will be a player who will fit into Jurgen Klopp’s brand of football seamlessly at Anfield.
Hudson-Odoi’s Rapid Rise In The English Top-Flight
The English teen sensation enjoyed a break out year at Stamford Bridge last season when he managed to put in some eye-catching displays during Maurizio Sarri’s reign as the Chelsea boss. However, he has been sidelined after rupturing his Achilles tendon back in April.
The 18-year-old registered six goals while creating seven assists in 29 appearances for the West London giants across multiple competitions. At such a young age, Hudson-Odoi has also earned two international caps for the Three Lions so far.
What Will The English Wide Player Add To Klopp’s Team?
The Pensioners rising star is blessed with electric pace which enables him to dribble with the ball out of tight areas to wreak havoc in the final third. Hudson-Odoi is very direct with his runs down the wide areas and is not afraid to take on his marker to get to the by-line. However, the English talent has still got a lot to learn before he can become an established professional in the Premier League.
Should The Merseyside Outfit Orchestrate A Move For Hudson-Odoi?
Hudson-Odoi will undoubtedly be a massive coup for the Reds if they ever managed to lure him to Anfield as he is one of the most exciting young wingers in English football. However, Rhian Brewster’s response should be taken with a pinch of salt as he is only trying to joke around with his youth international teammates.
As for Liverpool, they should consider making an approach for the London-born prospect in the future as he will not only improve Klopp’s squad depth but will also add another dimension to the Reds frontline.
