Chelsea will face off against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon hoping to earn their first victory of this Premier League campaign. The Pensioners lost 4-0 away at Manchester United which was followed by a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at home heading into this clash versus the Canaries this weekend.
Frank Lampard is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could be inclined to name an unchanged team for this contest against Daniel Farke’s men.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Norwich City
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will assume his duties as Chelsea’s first-choice keeper on Saturday despite conceding seven goals in his last three starts in multiple competitions. The centre-half duo of Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma will continue their partnership at the heart of Lampard’s backline while hoping to put in a better defensive performance versus the Canaries.
The Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta will operate as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri tries to influence the game on the other side from the left-back position.
Marcos Alonso and Fikayo Tomori will be part of the Pensioners bench this weekend and might come on during the clash if required. Antonio Rudiger is a major doubt and will be in a race against time to be fit for this encounter away at Carrow Road.
Midfield
Lampard might choose to go with the same midfield three that started against the Foxes last weekend. The trio of Mason Mount, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will look to establish the away side’s dominance at the middle of the park. They will be responsible for creating chances for the front players in the opposition half.
Both Ross Barkley and Matteo Kovacic are expected to sit on the Chelsea bench but could get a chance to come on and make an impact in the second half if Lampard chooses to call upon their services.
Attack
Oliver Giroud will lead the line for the West London giants up top. The French forward will be supported by Christian Pulisic and Pedro from the wide areas. Giroud has linked up well with his teammates in the final third. However, the former Arsenal striker is in dire need of a goal so that he can boost his confidence and find some form in a Chelsea shirt.
Tammy Abraham might get a chance to influence the game off the Pensioners bench against the Norfolk outfit this Saturday.
