Chelsea are adamant they will land Antoine Griezmann at Stamford Bridge. The French forward has been a long-term target for Chelsea but Manchester United are also interested as Jose Mourinho wants to replace Wayne Rooney with the Atletico Madrid forward.
The striker signed a new contract with a release clause of £85m. Chelsea are ready to break the bank as Roman Abramovich is looking to inject a lot of money as Antonio Conte wants a squad overhaul. The 25-year old’s has been in devastating form since his signing from Real Sociedad and recently won the La Liga player of the year for 2015/16 season.
Paris Saint-Germain are also very keen after missing out on Neymar. PSG agreed to pay the enormous sum of £170m for the Brazilian but refused to pay his debt that is in the tune of £40m.
Manchester United can definitely afford the huge release clause of the French player as they already signed his French teammate Paul Pogba from Juventus in a world record £89m from Juventus. Should Griezmann join United it would be a very good addition for the Red Devils as their team will boast of three brilliant French stars in Martial, Pogba and Griezmann.
