Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not ready to quit so easily and has vowed to fight for a place to get into the starting lineup. The Armenian playmaker last appeared in the 2-1 loss against Manchester City.
Mkhitaryan was one of United’s glamorous signing of this summer as he arrived from Borussia Dortmund for £26.3m. He got injured while playing for his country and since then hadn’t been involved in any matches. The attacking midfielder has been declared fit but had to watch United’s 1-0 win over archrivals Manchester City from stands last Wednesday.
Life has been very tough for the player who is eager to establish himself at Old Trafford. Rumours were doing rounds that the midfielder might be sold in January but the 27 year is confident that he will be back in the first team.
“So I am trying to do my best during the training to earn this place to play and then we will see, because I don’t think I will play every game, depending on the tactical situation, depending on the opponent. But I will do everything to try and help the team.”
He had an excellent last season as he netted 23 times and laid another 32 goals for the Dortmund and was also adjudged the player of the year. “It doesn’t matter if they buy me for, I don’t know, £38 million or £40m, I am not guaranteed to play the games.”
