Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been charged by FA with improper conduct for his comment prior to the Liverpool game regarding referee Anthony Taylor’s appointment.
Mourinho could face a touchline ban and has until 6pm on Monday 31st October to respond to the charge. United drew with Liverpool 0-0 on 18th Oct. Referee Anthony Taylor, who lives near Manchester had the responsibility to officiate the match.
Mourinho questioned his ability to perform in the high voltage match, “I think Mr. Taylor is a very good referee but I think somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him that I feel that it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance.”
According to the FA, managers are barred from commenting on match officials before the match as it could put pressure on the Referee and other officials.
FA released a statement: “Jose Mourinho has been charged with misconduct following comments made ahead of @ManUtd’s trip to @LFC earlier this month: 2016.”
