The next one week will be highly crucial for Celtic. On Saturday, they take on might Aberdeen who finished runners-up in the last two seasons and are sitting second this season also. The Hoops have a very important fixture on Tuesday after that as they travel to Borussia Park to play Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League which could very well be the decider of who finishes third in the group and makes it to the Europa League.
So, it is understandable that Rodgers will be in a dilemma whether to field his strongest XI against Aberdeen.
Celtic are seven points clear at the top of the Premiership now with a game in hand and would be keen to make the difference ten with the Dons.
Rodgers rested most of his key players against Ross County on Wednesday and still managed a 4-0 win. So, the likes of Dembele, Sinclair, Brown will all be fresh against the Dons and we expect the Northern Irishman to field his best XI.
The two Scottish giants met each other in the fourth gameweek and Celtic came out 4-1 winners at Parkhead. Rodgers will be looking for a similar outcome while the Dons will be keen to take a revenge.
Here is the predicted Celtic lineup against Aberdeen.
Defence
Craig Gordon should keep his place under the bar ahead of Dorus de Vries.
Kolo Toure is not the first choice centre-back anymore at Parkhead after his two costly mistakes against Gladbach both leading to goals for the German side. Jozo Simunovic has come back from a lengthy injury on a strong note and should start against Aberdeen at the heart of the defence alongside Danish international Erik Sviatchenko.
Mikael Lustig started at centre-back against Ross County in the midweek and did pretty well.
We expect the Swede to start in his natural right-back position against Aberdeen. Kieran Tierney was deservedly rested against Ross County in the midweek and should slot into the left-back position.
