Celtic will host Bosnian side Sarajevo in the second leg of the first round of Champions League qualifiers tonight. The Hoops managed to secure a 3-1 away win earlier, and the Scottish Champions should be able to see through this game to reach the next round.
The Hoops missed out on the Champions League main draw last season, and Lennon would be keen to show his worth by guiding Celtic towards the Elite European competition. Celtic still need to bring in a few more reinforcements in the transfer market after a good chunk of players departed this summer.
Team News: Michael Johnston who scored the opener in the previous clash could miss out due to injury concern. Boli Bolingoli Mbombo is also set to miss out due to the knock he suffered in the last game. Kieran Tierney, Jack Hendry, Marian Shved, Daniel Arzani, Eboue Kouassi and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are also out with injury. Olivier Ntcham is expected to miss out after he joined the squad just a few days earlier.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Sarajevo
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Scott Bain proved himself as the no.1 in goal last season, and he will likely start in between the sticks in this game. Big money signing Christopher Jullien can get a start in this tie in the heart of the defence. He is likely to be partnered by Jozo Simunovic. Kristoffer Ajer started as a right-back in the first leg, and he is probably going to get the nod again to start in that role. Winger Jonny Hayes could be asked to fill in at left-back, a position where he had played before a few times last season.
Midfield
The experienced duo of Callum McGregor and Scott Brown should start in the middle of the park. Brown will be in a more conservative role doing all the nitty-gritty job in midfield whereas McGregor will look to push the ball forward and open up the opposition defence.
Ryan Christie should start as an attacking midfielder as Tom Rogic hasn’t had a proper pre-season. James Forrest was one of the best players for the club last season, and the Scotsman should start on the right flank. The experienced Scott Sinclair is expected to start from the left.
Attack
Leigh Griffiths is back fit and available. However, Lennon might play it safe and start with Odsonne Edouard upfront. Griffiths might feature later on coming off the bench.
