According to a recent report by the Metro, Real Madrid have offered Manchester United €80m (£72m) plus either Isco or Gareth Bale for the services of Paul Pogba during this summer transfer period. However, the same source has also mentioned that the Red Devils are not interested in going through with the deal as they try to keep the Frenchman at Old Trafford beyond this summer.
Mundo Depotivo has reported that the Galacticos are prepared to go as high as €150m (£134m), but Man United are unwilling to budge from their £150m asking price for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
Pogba’s Frustrations At Old Trafford Last Season
Pogba had to endure a mixed season at Manchester last season as he struggled to find consistency on the pitch. He failed to win any trophies in the previous campaign but still managed to put in numerous match-winning displays for the Red Devils.
The France international scored 16 goals while creating 11 assists in 47 matches for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the last term across all competitions. There is no doubt that Pogba is a world-class midfielder which justifies why Real Madrid are trying so hard to lure him to the Spanish capital.
Losing Pogba Could Be A Massive Blow For The Red Devils
It will be a huge blow for Man United if they are forced to part ways with their prized asset. However, if the player has his heart set on a move, then Solskjaer might be better off letting him leave and getting the best possible deal for him this summer.
Getting either Isco or Bale for Pogba could sweeten the deal for the Red Devils as they are both outstanding talents who have the potential to win any given match on their own. Solskjaer should consider changing the club’s stance on the Pogba transfer as the Norwegian head coach could benefit from adding either Isco or Bale to his side ahead of the new season.
Did Solskjaer Make The Correct Decision By Not Showing Interest In Madrid’s Offer For Pogba?
Furthermore, Man United could use the money generated from Pogba’s potential sale to bring in a suitable replacement for the Frenchman. However, Solskjaer should demand a significantly higher bid than £72m along with Isco or Bale as he should be in no hurry to sell Pogba this summer. Hence, it seems like Man United are making the right move by not entertaining Los Blancos’ latest offer for the former Juventus star.
