Donny van de Beek’s Incredible Rise In Dutch Football
Van de Beek has gradually progressed into a world-class midfielder in the Dutch Eredivisie last season. He put in a string of impressive displays in the UEFA Champions League which helped the Dutch side reach the semi-finals of the competition in the previous campaign. He was instrumental in their victory over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last term.
The Netherlands midfielder featured in 57 matches for the Eredivisie giants last season, finding the back of the net 17 times while providing 13 assists across all competitions. He has represented Netherlands in five international matches thus far.
What Will The Dutch Midfield Talent Bring To North London?
Van de Beek is a complete midfielder as he is a jack of all trades at the centre of the park. The Dutch youngster can do a little bit of everything for his team while operating as a box to box midfielder in the opposition half. He displayed his true worth last season when he created a plethora of chances for his teammates in the attacking end of the field.
Furthermore, he has transformed himself into a consistent goal-getter from midfield which could benefit Spurs in the Premier League title race next term.
Van De Beek’s Addition: Good Move For Spurs?
The potential addition of a midfielder of Van de Beek’s attacking potential will undoubtedly bolster Pochettino’s squad. He will add a lot of quality to the Tottenham attack and can be an ideal replacement for Christian Eriksen if he decides to leave Tottenham this summer. There is no doubt that it would be a great coup for Spurs if they can orchestrate a deal to bring Van de Beek to London ahead of the new season.
