Jürgen Klopp is reportedly unhappy with Daniel Sturridge and the striker could be offloaded in January. Sturridge has been pretty injury prone and missed a long part of last season. This season, he has started only four Premier League games and hasn’t offered enough to be picked ahead of Roberto Firmino.
Sturridge has been good for Liverpool but in patches. He scored 13 goals last season and was the Merseyside clubs top scorer. He and Suarez formed a formidable pair that has scored 50 goals in 2013/14 season as Liverpool finished second in that season and nearly won the title.
Sturridge seems to be a misfit in Klopp’s strategy as he has the tendency to hold the ball and has slowed the pace of the game. Against Manchester United, Sturridge had to be withdrawn as he was pretty awful. Klopp had said, “He didn’t play with 100 percent confidence.”
Klopp continues to deploy Firmino upfront as Sturridge has been dropped to the bench. Lorenzo Insigne and Andrea Belotti have been linked with Liverpool and Klopp could replace the 27-year old with one of them.
